Being physically inactive affects our health and finances. It’s costing us our hard earned money and our lives.

American Adults Are Not Sufficiently Active.
To start, an alarming high percent of American adults are not sufficiently active in their daily lives. You’ve probably heard someone say, “If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it.” Seems like a true statement, when it comes to our physical activity. This is especially relevant as we grow older. At this point, we start to feel the affects of not moving our bodies as much. We become heavier, move slower, and are less happy with our bodies and the way we feel. Time and money are wasted treating the aches and pains of inactivity.

Turn Downtime into Productive Time

Human behavior, including my own, is a funny thing. I reflect back to my younger days when I was working my way through college as a waitress and bartender. When the restaurant was hopping busy, I was at the top of my game. Adrenaline pumping through my body to keep me moving fast and my brain firing to meet the needs of the high volume and expectations of customers. I truly enjoyed these “busy” shifts (...and not simply because there was more money to be made in tips!).

When looking at the complexity of a healthcare organization, a simple breakdown of its structure can be placed in two divides. There is the "business" side of healthcare. And there is the "clinical" side of healthcare. In many organizations, they are like two distinct camps or silos. Often fighting or working against each other versus collaborating together toward the success of the organization's key strategies.
